Bob practiced as a condemnation (eminent domain), real estate valuation and land use lawyer, who over the years has handled many high dollar and high profile condemnation cases both for government entities and private property owners.
Bob has tried more than 40 eminent domain cases during his career, and has obtained two of the three largest condemnation awards in Arizona history. Bob received both his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Arizona. He was an Assistant Attorney General for seven years before entering private practice in 1973. Bob has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America and in Chambers Americas Leading Lawyers in Business. He has been called upon to mediate and/or arbitrate numerous condemnation and real estate valuation disputes and is frequently a requested speaker at condemnation and land use seminars in Arizona and outside the state. Bob has served as a member of the City of Phoenix Board of Adjustment and as Chairman of the City of Phoenix Planning Commission. He is the primary author of Eminent Domain in Arizona published by the State Bar of Arizona and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Phoenix and the Orpheum Theater. Bob continues to serve the Arizona Bar through his creation of a twice-yearly Condemnation Summit that brings together Arizona appraisers, right-of-way agents, private property attorneys and government attorneys.
